Well now that's resurrected.
It's about that time to go helmet shopping again. I have a Daytona 3/4 for the last few years. Thinking of getting another 3/4, which one has the lowest profile but still a quality helmet. Supposedly A few helmets were updated. What do you guys recommend?
Biltwell 3/4
BELL 500
Daytona 3/4
Biltwell Gringo (FFM)

Just looked at all these and the Bell's are outrageously expensive compared to the others. The Biltwell Gringo FFM is not a 3/4 helmet. The 3/4 Biltwell's look like many others out there.

The Daytona is (according to their site) the smallest 3/4 helmet shell made but don't know if that applies to all the sizes or not.

Torc also makes 3/4 helmets (have one) and it looks ok for what it is.

Just checked them out too. Licks and the Daytona's appear to be the smallest profile out there for this style helmet with the Licks slightly lighter (.03lbs for the Large/XL size). For the extra $, is it worth .03 lbs? Dunno??? They look almost identical.

Can find Daytona's on eBay for under $60 in flat black. Lick's are $109 and the L/XL sizes are "pre-buy reserve". I take that to mean not in stock. I think the Daytona wins for the $ and availability IMO.

Ordering one now in flat black from eBay.

yeah, I tried calling them to see when they would get back in stock, but no call back after leaving them a message.

I also ordered a 1/2 helmet from them. While it's larger than my novelty I really like it. It is super comfortable and barely notice it is there. IF you get one, go down a size from what you would normally wear.
