I was wearing my Hustler when I got in my accident last week, and have some pretty nice cuts on my face and inside my mouth to show for it, and yes, the accident was less than a mile from my driveway. I just picked up a full face helmet yesterday on the insurance company's dime to replace the Hustler, but I'm still debating picking up an open face helmet next summer once I wear the FF for a while and see how it feels on longer rides or in the city.
While I can respect Grumman's point of view, having just gone through the kind of wreck he was talking about, I'm not exactly going to sit here and preach to a bunch of grown adults about whether or not to wear a full face helmet or not, we all know the risks involved well enough to make informed decisions.
I'm not sure if I missed it in a previous post, but what was the deal with the El Fuerte product recall? I remember seeing them on their website one day and then going back about a week later and finding no mention anywhere of any DOT helmets on their website.

I've owned a Bell 500 (orange), Fulmer V2 (gloss black), and most recently a Biltwell novelty (flat black). I still own the Fulmer and Biltwell. The Biltwell is super comfy and light weight. The Fulmer isn't bad either. I typically wear them only in the late fall thru early spring, favoring the Fulmer with a bubble shield and the Biltwell without.
