I only let mine set for a day or two. And they have held up great and way cheaper then powder coating. I don't have a "local" powder coating shop around me. So I always paint my stuff. And if done right it will hold up great!

ya... I didn't mean you can't touch them or use them for a month. the paint just doent fully harden for that amount of time... just gotta be very careful with the install, that's all.

I can't really be careful with a internal wired install. I would have to remove the throttle and idle from the switch housing and pre wire them. How do you get the throttle and idle cable out?

you'd need new grips to take the throttle cable out. How about this... paint them... and the self etching primer is a must, good catch I forgot to mention... paint them, keep them inside or where ever the warmest, dryest place you have for two or three days, then tape them with blue painters tape. don't push it on as hard as you can, just cover it (leagthwise - dont wrap it) do what you need to do, the tape should keep it from getting parred then when done, pull the tape off very carfully. If the talp is very sticky before you tape the new paint, stick the tape to your pants before you use it on the bars so it wont stick real hard....

this is just an idea, I haven't tried it... it's just all I can think of that might work.

Self etching primer is a must when painting over chrome.

JRK, I just dropped them off at a local shop due to how fast I want them done. They said they will be done within a week. I hope the quality is as good as your shop.
