Default Quick 'Q' On Boss Bags.

I seen a few springer style bags on members bikes here. All sat pretty high and seems a bit smaller than this example from Boss site. Before I order the bags I want to make sure I can have them lowered as much as possible to the axle or samson duals and the size is big enough. Therefore, does the springer style bags come without mounting holes and can be drilled very high on the bag by oneself for that reason?

Cheaper to ask here...Boss 1-800 that I tried a few weeks ago doesn't work outside the States.

You can still get the HD springer bags with fringe from your dealer. Just so you know.

Aye. I like the rigid to Boss though and planning on replacing the weave with distressed black to match the new seat. Why I am ruling out HD for now.

Greg's really good at e-mail. I'd suggest you e-mail him.

I have the Boss 37DC springer bags on my FB. I just went out and checked, not sure you could mount them any lower. The quick couplings are mounted into the molded back panel. One of them is already up as high as you could go. So even if you drilled your own holes, I don't think you could get it to sit any lower than they already have it.

Mine sit exactly the way it shows in the picture you have there. I think the fringe gives it the appearance of sitting lower, not sure if you will have the fringe or not. The bottom of the bags (discounting the fringe) sit about an inch or so above the axle. But keep in mind that it's with the stock shocks and no weight in the saddle.

Here is a picture of it on their website:

Boss also now has an extended 50 bag that is shaped like the springer bag and is made to sit around duals. The say they are made for the touring bikes but maybe they could come with an arrangement for you.

Hope that helps.

When I ordered my Boss Bags I got them without the mounting system. I used Easy brackets to mount them. They may be sitting a little lower with them. Don't know if that would work for you.

I got one of the first sets of the 50 bags - you can see mine on Greg's Glide on the website. They're great. They require the baggertail kit to fit on a softail, but definitely give a much lower look. That's why I'm saying to contact Greg directly. He can help you figure out what you want to do. The bags weren't even announced when I contacted him about a bigger option than what was currently available. He got me up and running in a matter of days.
