Well I have installed the V&H's BR 2 into 2 on my Blackline with no baffles and the same with all previous bikes (No Baffles). On my old Crossbones had V&H's true fishtails and then tried the dual tailgunners, again both with no Baffles.

I am not into speed, so never really worried about performance gains that much. But I did just upgrade my Air Filter, Pipes, SE 204 Cams along with a SE Tuner just to have my engine breath much better and feel more relaxed

Here is a mini clip on that topic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zreI23UkB6s
I still went for the V&H's 2 into 2 and would have also gone for the true duals if I had a deluxe or heritage. If I had a V-Rod muscle I would have gone for a 2 into 1 setup.

V&H Exhaust ...
I put them on my bike right after I bought it, (just over a year ago). I'm happy with overall quality and sound, (I left the baffles in). Since I ride with ear plugs when I wear my half hemet, the sound is fine. Same when I wear my 3/4 helmet. People do raise their heads to look when I go by, especially if I "run it up through the gears"...
