Default Blackline - Convert seat to solo?

Hey there...forum noob here with a question for Blackline owners that converted their stock seat to a solo.

I've already cut the back section off. My question is did you somehow reuse the stock mounting bracket and, if so, how did you attach it to the seat?

Any pics you can post up would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

I thought the black line already came with a solo seat with the detachable pillion seat.

no, its a one piece that looks like a two piece.

Sudzz...you cut up your seat before you knew what all needed to be done? You have way bigger nuts than me. Surely someone who knows the answer will chime in soon

Is the bracket screwed to the back part of the seat or is it riveted? Either way remove it and then put your seat on the bike where it goes. Then slide the recently removed rear bracket under the seat so it aligns with the mounting hole on the fender and mark the poisition. If it reaches far enough under the seat mark the holes and rivet or screw it on the seat base and your done.

If it doesn't line up you may have to make a custom rear bracket out of you favorite flat stock and attach it the same way as stated. Thats how I would do it. Good luck with your project.

there are two thing strips of plastic that connect the main seat to the rear pad. I cut them and made a solo seat. all you have to do is sew up the two slits in the back of the seat where the two tabs of plastic meet.

I'm on the fence about chopping my seat or purchasing a new one. If I chop the seat is there any way to be able to still attach the pillion whenever I wanted to ride two up?

I bought the Slim seat, which I think is nicer, and sold the Blackline seat for $100 (unused).

The people I've seen chop the stock seat didn't get the vinyl to look right on the back lower edge.
