Broke the tab off my jiffy stand
I lowered my 06' Night Train 2" in the rear and while riding 2 up last night, came around a corner and the bike dipped with the road and just came down on jiffy stand breaking off the tab used to put it down. Before I go buying a OEM replacement which I foresee having the same fate, is there a different stand people buy for lowered bikes.
Thanks for any info.
Joe
Also can anyone tell me if this is the correct OEM part # 50087-89B?

Man, what a fluke. I had mine lowered for years and never had that happen. Scraped a few things yes, but never had that tab hit. Was it a pot hole? IMHO I would get another one and not worry. BUT, if you're planning on going with a belt drive, you're going to have to remove that tab anyway. Just sayin'...

My fatboy is lowered a little bit more than an inch. I have 1" under dennis kirk jiffy stand. I did not replace it because of scraping. I did not like the bike sitting straight up when I parked it.
Anyway, when you replace the stand take off the old one, put the new one on, fold it forward and install the spring before you put on the bolt and tab. It is the easiest way to install the spring.
I would of replaced the spring at the same time.
