Default Thinking about trading in...

My 08 Train towards a new or used streetglide... I know but the denim black streetglide is killing me!!!

anyway the dealer wants around 21700 otd for the SG plus they have several used bikes

to choose from as well. I only owe about 3K on my bike right now so I assume I am in a

decent position to trade here.

What should I expect to get offered for my 2008 train with several mods?

I looked at NADA and low retail was 11.300 ish and avg was 12800 ish if I remember correctly.

My bike has exhaust/PCIII/stage 1 , apes, lojack, probably north of 3K in mods total. I doubt

the dealer cares as they will look at the book value.

Any thoughts welcome

mods are normally a wash on trade-ins unless it's fully customized. I would push for as much as you can get for your bike tho. At least you have one to ride and can walk out the door. Make sure to let them know you don't HAVE to have a new bike.......

Yeah I think I will let them look at my bike and have them give me the numbers. I already told the guy that I would have to give it some thought. It will probably come down to a matter of whether I want to pay on a bike for several years again versus paying mine off in a year and change...

They are not gonna give you retail. Check to see trade in value for yours stock. Then you could sell your mods here. You need to go in knowing what yours is worth. And try a few dealers to see who will give you the best offer. Good luck!

I bought a 2002 night train last week. It has the same mods basicaly as yours and 12000 miles. They were asking 9500 and I got it for for 8700 and a free quick detach windshield. You will have no problem getting in the 11's with a bike 6 years newer.

Yeah I know I won't get retail but those were the only numbers I could find from nada. I only owe like 3grand on my loan so I feel like I am in a pretty good position as far as trades go. We shall see I guess.

Take everything off and try to sell on your own because the dealer won't give you anything for them.

If you owe 3k your looking at getting maybe $8.5

The fact that you owe $$$ on your bike will kill your leverage

Yes.

When I traded in my Sporty for my Fatboy they said they didn't care about all mods I did so I took everything off and sold it all for half of of what I paid for it on craigslist. I think I made about $1500 and everything got sold within a month.

You won't get retail for your bike... Unless you sell it outright.
The dealer should give you clean trade... Or maybe wholesale,
They have to resell it..
Good luck!!
