That all depends on the outside temp. I think you should warm it up between 2-8 minutes. The problem with fuel injection is people have a tendancy to start and take off. I have a friend that is a harley tech and he says he can see the damage of people that don't warm up their bikes when he does a rebuild.

If I pull out the choke and it will idle, it is ready to run. There is a stop sign about 1 mile from my house. I push the choke in and it runs fine. When it is really cold, in the 20's and low 30's it will not idle well even with the choke out. then I let it warm up until the idle evens out.

I usually start the bike, then by the time my jacket is done up and my helmet and gloves are on I figure it's good to go. Just like others have said, go easy on her for the first few miles. Like a women, it takes a little foreplay before you can ride her hard (sry if I'm not allowed to say that on here)
