Default Warm up

How long is sufficient time to warm up your bike before riding off? Or how long do you wait?

That all depends on the outside temp. I think you should warm it up between 2-8 minutes. The problem with fuel injection is people have a tendancy to start and take off. I have a friend that is a harley tech and he says he can see the damage of people that don't warm up their bikes when he does a rebuild.

Fire it up and drive it slow for the first mile or two. Riding out of my neighborhood gets it warm before I get to the highway. Don't twist the throttle hard until it's up to temperature.

IMO, it's just like all other engines. Letting them sit and idle for extended periods is worse than running them cold. A minute or so is more than sufficient. Run easy the first couple miles, this will allow engine, trans etc to warm equally.

If I pull out the choke and it will idle, it is ready to run. There is a stop sign about 1 mile from my house. I push the choke in and it runs fine. When it is really cold, in the 20's and low 30's it will not idle well even with the choke out. then I let it warm up until the idle evens out.

Even in the coldest temps in the teens I fire her up then put on my gloves and go. No more than a minute and as others have said just take it easy for the first few miles.

I always give it a few minutes warm up and keep my R's down the first 10 miles. If I lived in a colder climate I'd probaly add another minute or two.

I have one of those digital oil/temp dipsticks. I wait til she warms up and hits about 90*
Usually takes about 4 minutes. Then off I go, taking it easy down the main street.

I usually start the bike, then by the time my jacket is done up and my helmet and gloves are on I figure it's good to go. Just like others have said, go easy on her for the first few miles. Like a women, it takes a little foreplay before you can ride her hard (sry if I'm not allowed to say that on here)
