Whats the best way to adjust the lowering bolts while on the jiffy stand or jack?

I've found it easiest on the jack, though it takes a few tries to get the placement right and still leave access to the adjustment nuts. It can be done on the side stand as well, just much more difficult to fit a wrench under the bike.

Mine is sitting about 2 1/8" lower than stock. Haven't bottomed out yet, I don't think, but I also jacked up the preload a bit to prevent just that. It's a stiff ride for sure, but only bad on those really big pot holes. And chew gum, it helps to keep your teeth from smacking together. Bridge transitions can be pretty harsh too.

The lower you go the more preload you need to avoid bottoming out. If you just drop an inch or an maybe one and a quarter inch, and ride solo, you can probably keep the stock preload and it will ride exactly as it does now. If you going for max drop and ride two up, you will need to tighten the preload. That that will stiffen up the ride, but keep you offf the bump stops. For me, I dropped it 1 1/4 inches, and added two extra turns on the shocks. That was more than enough to keep me and the wife off the stops. I recently raised it to a 1 inch total drop because I was scraping the boards a little too often. I was able to take a turn out of the shocks and it seems like a perfect medium for me. No bottoming out, even with the wife on back, great ride for me solo and I really have to lean into the turns to throw sparks. But most people like it lower than that.

My sig pic is 1 1/4 total drop with two turns on the preload.

I rarely notice mine bottoming out (and I've got it as low as the bolts will go), but I'm not a particularly beefy guy either. I could still go a couple inches lower. Shotguns on the list...
