Good point. And also primer if you want the paint to stay on for any length of time.

Just a silly question,

But whats the benefit of lifting the tank? I read that it cools the engine but wanted to get feedback from those who have actually installed or fabricated the part, what are the cons of this install?

Plus I noticed they come in different lift sizes 1", 2", 3". Which is the best overall lift size?

I only paid $30 for mine so I am not sure if I am an idiot or just a half wit, but at least I'm not a D!*k. No offense meant of course.

The Rocker's tank stock doesn't have the lines like a fatbob tank.
Adding a tank lift gives it the better lines the fatbob tank has stock.

I added a 2".

Not sure yet if I want a lift or not. But if I do I think I will make one. Its fun to make your own stuff and wrench on your own bike. Some people find it easier to buy the parts they need like Paul Jr and OCC or make them like Jesse James it's your choice. To me I think it's silly to buy the kit when it is really easy to make it yourself. Most things our bikes use you can't make without having a garage like Jesse James. So when the easy things come around I do them myself. Hell some guys have the dealer change their oil and put new bars on and that's fine if you have no other option. I just put on the new ext kit for my forward controls but I have the tools to do it some cats don't even have a spot to wrench on their bikes. Ride on brothers!!

One downfall to the tank lift is it kills your mileage range I lost around 50 miles per tank. I always fill up when the low fuel light kicks on or sooner. Bike will say 90 to empty and 30 miles later the light is on... It would be nice if the equalizing line was at the back of the tank instead of the front.

It's not as bad on the Rockers. The fuel line is further back on the tank.

I would rather be a D!*k, than an A$$h*le, or a Cu^t.

Now the question, do I make some. Spent an hour making the brackets and painting them, and say 1/2 hour intalling them. 1 1/2 hours time. Or order them for 30 bucks and spend half hour installing them. = 1 hour saved.

I would be saving money ordering them and installing in my eyes, and more time riding.
