Just put a rear on mine but wont say yay or nay for a few more months.

They last for a gizzilion miles, but they make the bike handle like a truck !. just my two cents.. the Pirelli Night Dragons were top performance worst life, followed by the ME 880, but nothing handled worse than the dunlops.

I've wondered about if the E3's would make the ride a little stiffer vs the 401's because the load limit is 230#'s more.

thinking the side walls have to be a little heavier in order to do that.

I run an E3 on the front. If they built a 200x55x17, I'd run that on the back also.

I'm running E3's front and back on my 08 Softail. Have put about 1000 miles on them and they handle road grooves etc better than the stock Dunlop tire for these bikes.

The rear tire is actually a little bit narrower than a 150 size which is the stock rear tire on a Heritage. The sidewalls are much stiffer that accounts for the increased load carrying capacity.

I'm hoping for better mileage.

The E3 might be a good tire for the member who posted last week that his neighbor and wife combined weight was around 600 #'s on their Softail.
