If the ABS really is the reason the Springer was axed (I'm skeptical about that) its yet another case of something good being killed in the name of "progress"...

with the technology that we have now i find it hard to believe that they are having a hard time making abs work with a springer. i believe its a cutting cost to save themselves $$$. with that said i do hope they bring back a springer whether it be a heritage or something else, if not then it makes my springer that much rarer.

If it just so happens that ABS is what is keeping the Springer out of the line up then SHAME on H-D, I say! Don't get me wrong, I am all for advancements and safety features but I don't think such a thing as ABS should be such a mandatory concern for a classical styled motorcycle.

Better yet, have the genius HD engineers, make ABS work on a Springer!

Part of the story of the end of H-D springers is that the fork was not capable of holding up to dual disc with 4 piston calipers without bending. Given the increased power in ever larger engines the 2 piston single disc could only slow the bike down. That is not acceptable.

There are after market springer forks out there that can take the load but they look pathetic.

Yeah this! Harley bikes are looking more and more like budget bikes
