I just bought a 2006 fuel injected FatBoy with 9200 miles. It has Vance & Hines Big Radius with screaming eagle Stage 1 Chip. Is it worth doing a cam job and putting on a module to adjust for it? What will I gain by having a bigger cam installed? Is it worth it, or is the bike just fine the way it sits? Will I regret making the change to the bike or is it really great when it is all said and done? Please you die hard FatBoy fans let me know what you think about doing a cam job to this bike. I don't understand your reference to a stage 1 chip.
If the only power mod your bike has is a free flowing exhaust the next thing would be to add a better flowing air intake like the HD SE air filter or an aftermarket equivalent.
Then you will have to re-flash/re-program your ECU so the engine isn't running overly lean.

Cams are better money spent than a big bore on an 06, get some cams and a tuner and run it

 

stage 1 is not a chip of any sort. to answer your ? yes cams are great. while you're in there upgrade you're camplate, oil pump, and bearings and have a bulletproof bottom end. everything you need about 1300 from fuelmoto
