The anodize process adds a hard layer (92Rc) that is .0001"/.0002" thick max. Color or clear won't matter. It looks good but because it is so thin any stones or debris at riding speeds can and will break through the anodize and cause the ugly process of oxidation to begin. You can go with a hardcoat anodize process which can go up to .0004" max thickness which is better but not as durable as powder coat. Anodize may be ok for some covers etc but I would not advise for wheels.
