I have a few black anodized parts on my bike that I will eventually have to powder. They look purple in the sun and they haven't worn well.

I'm no expert on this subject, but if you like the look of anodizing, you can have polished parts coated and polished using clear powders. I don't remember all the details of the process, but a good coater should be familiar with that I'm talking about. If done well, it looks pretty awesome.

This is a raw magnesium shell I had polished and powder coated and it has the reflective properties of anodizing.

There you go. Run a search here for "The Powder Pro" or JRK5892. Joe did some work for me and it came out flawless. Great service, great price and quick turn around. He's a good guy as well.

I'm a fan of some Black PC over Purple base and the clear PC on top Super deep black with super shine and no purple shine in sunlight

I deal with Anodizing daily and can assure you that it will fade in sun light unless you coat over the ano with a coating of UV resistant clear coat.
Save the hassle and powder coat.

Good point to clear but powder must also be cleared to protect it. Whats another con of anodizing.

Joe I say go with PC'ing. There many different powders that can give an anodized look. I've seen some cool candy and chrome powders. Just my 2 cents
