Default Jiffy Stand Extension Question..

I was bored and went to the local Harely Store near me and decided to buy the extension for the kickstand on my '05 Heritage since I got the floorboard extensions on it should make it easier to find the kickstand..

I got the kit for the heritage and found it impossible with my drill bit set (need a new one) to drill through the kickstand to install it. Does anyone know of some good bits that will go through the kickstand? I would hate to spend the $$$ at the Harley dealer to install this part.

Any decent drill bit from lowes or similar will do. Be sure to go slow and keep bit lubed with wd40 or cutting lubricant.

I would also get a small centerdrill to get hole started.

+1 on the cutting oil. A good quality Carbide bit should do it. You should be able to buy a single in the size you need.

Do you have the HD part number for this extension? I want to order the floorboard extenders but will also need to extend the tab on the jiffy stand so my foot can find it.

Hi Stu:

Can you post a pic of the extender installed on your jiffy stand? I have the same problem, but I also installed Arlen Ness 3" floorboard extension kit, plus the Harley Goodies extensions. The Arlen Ness kit relocates the jiffy stand. I find if I shimmy my crotch forward onto the tank, my foot can reach around the floorboard to catch the jiffy stand, but an extender would make this a little easier.

Cheers,

Rob.
