Default charcoal canister

I purchased a used CA model last year. I was shown the canisters then. I've been looking online about them, and see a lot of people remove them, however I've seen frequently that removing them does nothing for performance...so my question...why bother?

does it really not affect performance?

Less clutter, lose a few ounces. No noticable change. Its purpose is to recover and burn fuel vapor from the tank.

Macpearce,

Removing the canister will not improve performance. Having said that, I once worked on a bike with an idling problem. Traced the problem back to a clogged charcoal canister.
