I bought my '06 Standard right off the floor fire red pearl w/ the factory chrome wheel upgrade. Solid rear wheel w/ a "rolled" laced front. Looks way better than the swiss-cheese holed powdercoated stock wheel IMO.

That ain't chrome, my friend.
It's polished aluminum.

100% chrome George...it's a HD wheel set and it's chromed just like the front one. It looks polished aluminum dull in the photo (due to the fact it gets dirty fast and I didn't clean it before the pics) but it is indeed chromed.

I hate to disappoint you, but unless you cut loose the $1,199.00 for the chrome one in the HD catalog, the one that looks exactly like the stock aluminum wheel we have, you have the forged polished aluminum version like everybody else who opted for the smooth wheel option.

The wheel is very nice. Highly polished, probably the nicest polished wheel I've seen, but not chrome. If you still don't believe me, check here.

I think George is correct. Looks like the wheel on my Custom, and it is aluminum. Nothing wrong with it, as it does polish up pretty nicely and is a good looking wheel. I'm happy with it.

On the website it says "polished slotted disc" for the option, his is not slotted, so either it's an error on the website, or he has the chrome wheel.

It's the chrome one...trust me. I bought my Standard off the showroom floor w/ 3 miles on the odo. and the set was installed on the bike before I bought it...and I DO know the difference between polished aluminum and chrome. Before I bought the Fire Red Pearl bike I tried to get them to swap these wheels over to a silver '06 FXST but they wanted $400.00+ in labor to do it...so I took the red one...looking back on it now I'm glad I didn't go with the silver...the red looks better with the chrome wheels IMO.

I like the rear wheel and probably one of the few who does. I think it matches the engine he has got with chrome and silver. Its to bad that HD did not chrome the outer rim of that rear wheel and leave the center silver that would give it more contrast to match his engine.

The 06' and the very early 07's came through solid.
Harley changed the wheel for 07' to the slotted, but used up the remaining solids on the early 07' models until they were gone.. Same wheel, both polished aluminum.

Powdercoat it to match brake dust.
