They are not DOT and the DOT has a picture of one cut in half on their website along with a few other novelty helmets to show people how to identify a novelty helmet from a DOT certified helmet.

That being said I think that they are very nice and wish I could get away with wearing one in my state. Since I cant I just ordered a Novdot from Licks. If I have to wear a DOT I might as well have something I can put speakers in.

Here in VA you can just slap a DOT sticker on it lol...no one knows the difference unless it's perhaps a traffic officer

They look just like the ACC Head Trip helmets that they used to sell as DOT helmets on their website. I tried to go by their store one time but it wasn't there anymore. I think that they're web only now. If they are similar to ACC then I can say that it's not a very comfortable helmet but not bad. I've been wearing mine for over 2 years. It is rougher on your head but easier on your neck and back due to it's light weight and being less wind resistant.

Have one, love it. Not getting involved in the religious war. Do what you want.
