Tom I am installing this same kit on 98 softail and am havig the issues you had with the 1" bearings. would you considder making me the tube like you made and used? I will pay you.

 

that whole axle issue (8.5" wheel using 1" axle and the swingarm utilizing a 3/4" axle) is what has been keeping me from pulling the trigger on the kit

there is no machine shops around here, so turning something down isn't happening

 

I would not be comfortable making anything without having the bike in front of me to get measurements from...you can get 3/4" to 1" adapters, that do the same thing....you will still need to make custom wheel spacers...I use a stack of washers for mock up and then measure the washers and order wheel spacers that size.
