Oldfenderguy,I believe I have the A/C cover that your" Nostalgic" cover is based on.This is a 1950's era Panhead A/C cover that I run on my 03 Fatboy.Same design just a little smaller diameter.I'm with you.Way better than the football design.

Is that a kit for your bike or was it one you found and fit it on there yourself?
I got it from a buddy who used to own a Panhead. He was using it for an ashtray.Got it re- chromed and it bolted right on.

I love it. I ran the part number 29139-91 and came up with nothing. Are you sure about the number?
I double checked, and that number should be 29138-91.

Had right at 18 inches of snow here, after a day of freezing rain. Then we had a week or so of temperatures in the single digits.......

Been in the 60's for the past few days. LoL....

Here is the current smooth chrome A/C cover. It is a bit smaller in diameter and not as deep as the nostalgia. It doesn't look as good either.

I just installed the same smooth one along with the chrome backing plate and chrome efi top cover and it looks awesome! Have to take pics tomorrow.

I have the chrome back plate, but I haven't seen the EFI top cover, I'll have to look at it.

That looks great. I bought one and even with the thick gasket, with the K&N filter, it isn't spaced out far enough. I've been thinking about puting a spacer under the center of the cover.

They now make a plain round chrome one without the logo. It fits fine, but doesn't look near as good as yours.

Jim
Saw the plan round cover at the dealer. I am wondering if it will accept a trim insert?
Dave,

I bought the cover and a replacement '07 Heritage trim ring, but the trim ring isn't flat so the inside edge would be away from the cover, if that's the trim you meant. It would look good if it worked. I tried the plain cover alone and I can't decide if I like it or not.

Jim
Ok so I bought the plain one and put it on and it looks better then the football but plain! I bought the aluminator round trim piece and put that on by itself like Anubisss did but I am not sure I like that either. Next I am going to get a longer screw and combine both. I may put a rubber insert to prevent it from spinning.

Just rode to two dealers looking for the nostalgic cover. Both dealers just ran out of it. There must be some forum members in my area that saw this post before I did.
