HD can't afford to hire engineers and a drawing board these days? Switchback...now this. Ya I agree, parts bin specials.

I don't know, I kinda like it. Denim Black, slam the rear, sidemount the plate, gloss black the front forks, black out the exhaust and then put on gloss black primary cover, cam cover, trans/clutch cover and upper rocker boxes and this thing would look bad ***. .

Like it or not ... once it is publicly announced, it's part of Harley Davidson history ....

I wonder if Knucklehead riders were wringing their hands and 'dis'ing the newfangled Panheads when they appeared on the scene ...?

it sits as low as the Blackline does and actually a pretty damn comfortable ride. I agree though about dropping that rear down it is kinda hard on the eyes specially with the tag being mounted on the side. HUGE gap...but its got loads of potential...

To me it looks like a cross between a Sportster and Fatboy Low. Sad thing is, someone will buy that bike.

I am really new to the Harley scene and I am currently in the market for a bike. I love the Softail models like the Fatboy Lo, Deluxe, and of course the new Slim. I am interested in these models because of how many options you have to customize it to your personality and taste. That's why I personally love the new Slim. Throw some apes on it, nice exhaust and a few other touches and those bikes will be amazing. I am a young guy (21) and the style of the Slim is exactly what I'm looking for in a bike, a beautiful platform that has tons of room for customization! JMHO

Thumbs up

[QUOTE=brettnbama;9340254]Always a fan of a Springer, but in this case no. I do think if you like the style bikes Exile does, which I do, this new "slim" is a perfect starting point. It already kind of leans that way. I do think the bars suck though. Like I said, I like it. Not enough to trade my Crossbones for it, but I like it more than the blackline in stock form.

Agree with the Exile reference, that's what I thought of. I think this bike would look real cool with an oversize (3.3 gal) sportser tank, apes & fenders mounted real close to two 150x16 tires.

That rear is still a bit wider than on the original Fatboy.
