Default Got home from Afghan today! Looking to add some Speakers to the Harley and need help

Hey guys, got home from Afghan today and planning a cross country trip from Virginia to California and looking to add some speakers to the Harley. I have a 2006 Softail Deluxe. Anyways, I was thinking the Boom speakers sold at the Harley Dealership, however have heard mixed reviews. I will be mounting the speakers on the Handlebars. Any suggestions on the Boom or any other speakers?

Appreciate it!!

Thank you for your service, sir.

I know that Rockford Fosgate makes motorcycle kits now and other than Polk Audio, RF is my fave speaker co. Worth checking out.

Have fun on your trip. You deserve it!

I have the boom speakers from the MoCo. Pass on those, they are the best looking but not the best sounding. Perhaps the one that mounts on the windshield will sound better because of the wind isolation the shield provides, but that's it. I have mine mounted down on my crash bar, I'm not sure if I want to look at them mounted on my ape hangers where they would be better heard... I may even resume my project to use some Bose automotive 3.5" drivers that I took off of my sold cage. Those would certainly sound loud and clear but the overall setup would be way beyond plug n' play.

Let me know what you decided and how it came out.

Mimo.
