Default What's to gain from headwork on my 103?

I have a 09 Fatboy and did the stage three upgrade. 259e cams, high compression pistons, pushrods, etc. I didn't do any headwork. Dealer said I am leaving performance on the table without headwork. I love the way the bike responded to the build, but what am I looking at if I do headwork? Performance, more lopey idle, reaching full potential on my build? Your help is appreciated.

+1....did the same thing and thinking about headwork but wondering how much performance for the money I will gain.

Cecil,

What kind of dyno #'s did you see out of the stage 3 on your bike?

I got 95.63 HP and 102.97 Torque. I also run Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered which I know are hurting performance, but don't want to run a 2 into 1 yet. The next question is, if we do headwork, will the 259e cams work?

So with my build as stated, I am going to get even more out of this build. Any idea what cost? Would you go with SE MVA heads. And, will I need to do any more other than new heads?

You'll need heads and a new dyno tune. I dont know for sure but my plan and thinking is that you'll get more out of having custom work done on the factory heads as opposed to the HD heads. They'll do extra work as well. Hillside explained to me the other stuff they planned to do and for the money I will definitely go with them. I think you'll be looking at somewhere around $800 to $1000. I plan to get mine done but it's gonna have to wait awhile since my bars are on the way. There are other machine shops that can rework the heads like Big Boyz and Tman but I think Hillside may be the best value and there are lots of people on the forums that will vouch for them.

Let me know what you plan to do as I am interested in your plans since we have the same build so far. Thanks for the complement on my bike as I like yours as well. Check the classifieds on here for tins if your serious.
