Black Wheels on a Heritage

If you went with black rims and polished spokes and kept the blackwall tires, that'd probably look pretty tough. Photoshop some black rims on that sucka!

Since it is a firefighter edition bike... Look at it this way:
I have not seen one fire truck with black wheels.. But a crap load of red and chrome ones.. Now if you had the tins painted to match the Chicago style red and black fire trucks the black wheels would be sick as long as they have some chrome in them..

You asked. I like the wheels you have.
I have seen some bikes with powder-coated black rims with chrome spokes. It can look good on a bike that is black.
If you want to do some detail that would look good and classic, try getting some red paint that matches your bike's paint and place a small pin-stripe on the outer edge of the rims, near the tires. It is inexpensive, removable, will make the rim unique, add some flash and match the style of the bike well too.
Just a thought.

I think if you went with, black rims, chrome spokes, and, black hubs it would look good. A mix of chrome black and red is always the cats meow. I also like Fireman1501's idea of going with some black on your tins like Chicago FD trucks. It would look retro, killer, and diffrent. As much as im a chrome ***** I would say go for it. I'm going for the blacked out wheels myself.

I like to have a tasteful mix of black and chrome. I think too much of one or the other is boring and uninteresting.
I think you should use black on some of the bigger parts to balance out the wheels...Cam cover, Rocker Box tops, AC cover, horn, coil cover, etc..... if not, stick to tradional chrome.
