Flames out of drag pipes normal?
Ok so I decided to clean up the bike a little bit and take a picture and video of her. I did notice that when I shut her down and started her back up she shot out a pretty nice fireball but I didn't think anything of it. Well watching the video I can definitely see both pipes with flames shooting down them.
Bike is a 09 X-bones with Paul Yaffe Supertrapp X pipes. I've had the pipes on for years now and it has a generic tune on it from the stealership (SERT used but no dyno tune). Anyone with drag pipes notice this on an EFI bike.
I'll post up the video in a minute. I want to edit it and slow down the part where she's spitting fire.
Edit: I never saw the flames out the end of the exhaust besides on startup this one time. The other flames never appeared to leave the exhaust pipe.

Dunno if it's normal, but it sure is RIGHTEOUS!!
Back in the day, in the 70's, I had a kickstart '71 Sportster. I remember sometimes when I would kick it, it would blow a fireball out the exhaust pipe or the air cleaner. One time, my little teeny-bopper GF was standing behind the bike while I was going through my super-scooter kickstart routine (hey, we were ALL posers back in the day) She blew a big fireball out the pipe & caught her bell-bottoms on fire. Got 'em put out before any damage was done to her leg. Good thing to, 'cause her dad woulda killed me since he didn't like her riding with me. Can't say as I blamed him. I was a real hellion back then.

I am pretty sure that is NOT a "mod" Harley advertises when selling bikes but hey, it's there and it's awesome! I too had an old carb'd bike that blew flames but never an EFI bike. I am not an ace HD mechanic but not sure if it's a good thing or not though!! Also since it's and EFI bike I have no idea what it would be either but I am anxious to watch this post and learn though! It's almost like it's loading up on fuel but not sure how that would be done since it is an EFI bike.
