I have a 06 Softail standard with the 200mm rear tire. Looking for Ideas where to find a direct bolt on rear wheel. I am wanting a spoke to get rid of the ugly cast wheel

 

www.hdwheels.com is the only place I know of where you can get a 17" X 6" spoke wheel. They have 'em in multiple colors, spoke options etc. All the other dealers offer 18" only. I'll be pulling the trigger soon myself.

 

i have an 06 also. i had the crossbones rear wheel put on mine. think he had to make different spacers but it worked and looks way better!

 

Will the 18" fit direct? I would like a little more spokes also. I need a new back tire so was going to do both at the same time

The crossbones wheel is 17X6 but has a black powder-coated rim. You'd need new spacers and wheel bearings and it wouldn't match your front wheel which has a chrome rim and 40 spokes. You can put an 18" wheel on from one of the other vendors that will be a direct bolt-on but I do not know how that will effect the accuracy of your speedometer or torque and horsepower at the rear wheel. I do not know if the 18" wheel would cause any clearance issues. If someone can supply the name of a vendor who offers a 17 X 6 rear spoke wheel besides hdwheels, I like to know who it is as well.

 

06 is a bastard one year deal..first year 200 tire...last year 3/4 axle and weird offset. Finding a direct bolt on wheel will be difficult and your choices will be limited.

 

I put an 07 Chrome fatboy wheel on my 06 Standard. I had to use the FB rear spacers and a 1/2" spacer between the wheel and the pulley. Everything lines up perfect.

 

I can make a spacer if I need to. I was just looking for the easy way but not limited too.
