Default Price for a dyno tune!?

Bought a power commander for my EFI night train.
Got a price of $450 for the dyno tune from my indy.

Is this high?

I paid 100 dollars for a tune that sucked, total waste of money. I paid 425 for one that was and is awesome, well worth the money. Somewhere in between is probably the average priced tune.

$380 at my local dealer $300 from a local independent guy with a good reputation. In my opinion an independent is the way to go you will sometimes get guys at the dealer who will stay more modest on the tune

Laconia NH HD gave me A winter special for $200. Normally $300.
Im just weary about a $200 tune but scepitcal about a $450 tune as well....

Im a firm believer in "you get what you pay for."
Just dont wanna get F'd you know.

It's a bitch, isn't it? I had never had an efi tuned so I went cheap first. Then I looked around and made calls and visited some shops. Found a road race shop whose owner rides a 124" FLHX, the dude is meticulous about getting it right. Sounds like you are doing your homework.

Thanks a bunch man. Ill be getting a definite answer soon and I will have to revisit this thred and post the numbers if I get it tunned.

I might wait til I get the cams or get the 95" kit first before I do the tune. I dont want to pay $450 for a tune with no engine work done to it and then another $450 after I get the motor work done you know.

I got quoted 3-4 hours from the dealership. $225-$300. Sounds about right.

I got a quote from Fuemoto for $185.00. I only live 65 miles away from them. Supposed to one of the best tuners in the mid-west.
