Man!! Nice scoot! Yep, that confirms it.. That's the size apes I want. The 502's are great.
I have thought about cutting costs by going this route...

Buffalo Bars
DS-300343 $125.95 drag price
End Rise: 11.5”
Width: 36.0”
Center Width: 10.5”
Pullback: 12.0”

verses

Wild 1's
21-0272 bikers choice# 10108 CCI# $204.95
End Rise: 12.5"
Width: 36.5"
Center Width: 10"
Pullback: 12"

Any thoughts? That does seem like quite a price difference. Wonder what the difference is? Wild 1 states the bars are actually two pipes sleeved, then bent cut and finished together as one bar with outter and inner diameters.

Here's an idea for you. WildOne sells what they refer to as "specials" at a much-reduced price. You can get 502's, for example, for $160 rather than $220. Look here.

I bought my 518's here. The blemish turned out to be a tiny flaw in the chrome you'd need a magnifying glass to see--and it was located in the area under the grip! Give them a call and talk to John...he'll steer you right.

Hambone,

Those bars look great on your Heritage. I'm curious as to how tall you are, and are your hands above your shoulders. I'm only 5'7" and trying to figure what height would be best for me.

I'm 6'2" and my hand are well below my shoulders. I could have gone with a set of 14" and still be below my shoulders. I will say that my Mustang seat with the backrest has a lot to do with the comfort of my ride. I've done over 800 mile days before with no back problems. Worth the money.

Your bike sure looks great with those new apes on it. When I put new apes on my bike, I also noticed the difference in my shoulders and arms, enjoy the ride.

Babs,

I would not mess with anything less than 12.5 apes. I am starting to think 16s are the best choice. I bought a new set of 12.5 Wild Ones, the fat risers, stainless cables and skirted top clamp for my Deluxe. I have not put them on yet because I was waiting on the top clamp. Meanwhile, I have been looking at pictures of bikes with apes and I am starting to think I should have went with 16s.

Hambone,

How do you think 16s would feel and look instead of the 12.5s? I have a set of 12.5s that I haven't installed on my Deluxe yet and I am having second thoughts...thinking I should go with 16s instead. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have.
Thanks

Well I finally got the apes I bought months ago installed. I can't say enough about how happy I am that I went with the Chubby 502's. With the +6 Barnett cables. I put over 250 miles on it last night on a PGR Escort mission, and not the least bit of shoulder fatigue.

Finally a bike cool enough to show to the wife to convince her that this is the way to go since I have to share ours.[:@][:@]
