8k would be tops for me.

 

I just bought a 2002 Fatboy with 13000 miles for $7495. It came with a Corbin Seat, windshield, V&H Longshot pipes and a mustache engine guard....plus it's in great shape. IMO, your friend should offer $7000 or less.

 

What makes it a one of a kind? Handlebars? I'd say $7k tops.

 

They're hard to unload especially this time of year..

Have the VIN # in hand and call Harley and have them run the numbers to check if the inner cam bearings were replaced while on the production line. They were identified as a problem during production that year and the earlier models of that year got the cheaper, problem bearings and the later ones were upgraded. I just replaced mine last month, they were the old ones. I was told the crappy bearings had a history of failure between 14-20k. I have 19,000 miles on my 2000 Fatboy now. Don't take anyones word on this unless HD has verified the bearing upgrade for that VIN or if it was upgraded by the owner, he's got receipts...

That can be a item to bring up as far as what gets paid for the bike. If the bearings get done, it my very well lead to another expense if the tensioners have to be changed at that time...

Also, you may look it up on KBB.com for your zip code and go from there, but as others said, it is a buyers market.

 

i agree with all of you...i think its to much and i told him that...i do alot of work myself so i told him i would go out with him and look at it but i told him no matter what its to high of a price...thanks for your guys input its helped alot

My riding buddy recently sold his 2000 FLSTF. Garage kept, recently serviced w/4200 miles, loads of chrome including wheels, detactable windshield, aux lights and two-tone paint - $8K.
I'd offer $7000.00, as it appears slightly rough.

 

'One of a kind' ..... gotta be worth at least 25k !!!
