Default HHI Raked Trees - I want the facts!!

Hey All,

I want to hear from people who have installed the 4 degree with 2" overs on a Fatboy or the like. I am thinking on this for my Fatty and want some experienced folk to comment.
I don't want... I know a guy who knows a guy stuff... If you have done it, I want to hear from you.

Cheers
Mongrel

Just FYI you don't need 2" over tubes on their fatboy/heritage trees. They have built in 2" extension to the top tree. I was going to order -2" tubes to keep the nose up out of the question.

What Fireman says. HHI trees stop your tubes at the bottom of the top tree when mounted. I have 5* trees with a 21" wheel with 2" short springs and it still has a slight nose high attitude.

Thanks guys.

Yah that's what I meant. The trees with the 2 inch spacers built in.

Do they go ok?? Any handling issues etc??

I will run the stick wheel for now, but am looking at a 21 inch in the future.

I just order the HHI for my 98. The FB has 32 degree rake with zero rack trees, the neck with the HHI will be 36. The fork tubes changed from 22 7/8 to 22.25 (I think) in 2000. Add two inches for the HHI top tree extension.

With a 18 inch wheel my trail came out within acceptible limits so right should not be an issue. If anything it may loosen up at low speed and become more stable at high speed. If I am right.

The HHI kit has an option for 21 inch wheel. I don't know if or how it is different but you may want to call.

Thanks man. Since I posted this I have installed the HHI trees and love them!

I have the 4 Degrees with the 2 inch spacers. I have then dropped an 18 inch Renegade on the rear and a 19 inch Renegade on the front, and lowered the back end by a couple of inches. Plus added 12 inch mini apes, and I love it!

The handling is fine. There is a slight wobble at around 50kph, but nothing at high speed. 140kph and hands off the bars, and it's perfect.

Here is a pic!

Yep! But it's good to go back over old threads and see where things once stood.

The main reason I was going with the 4 degree trees was for the 23" wheel. It is still in my list to do. But if I do recall you can change out the spacers in the top trees. They sell different size spacers.
