I have a hard time with all the cell phone is all I need responses. Doesn't anyone ride off the beaten path where there is no service? It seems just a few basic tools would serve well in an emergency. Obviously, a serious problem can not be fixed with small tools. Another item I like to carry, duct tape.

 

You guys all offer great ideas for tools to carry on your bike, but one more item I carry is jumper cables made just for motorcycles. They take up very little space and come in handy when your battery decides to take a sh*t. These are about 6" in diameter and 2" thick.
