Default Image Motorcycle (Eagle Claw ) kick stand failed. Bike almost hit the ground.

I've been waiting for a call from my local dealer for the final price of the labor for all the upgrades I've had done.

Well the call came today.
The only problem is, it was the guy at the desk telling me there is a little problem with my bike.

He goes on to tell me that they need me to bring in my stock side stand to replace my aftermarket stand.
He tells me my bike is done but they will not be able to store it until I can get a new stand on it.

He tells me the eagle claw stand I have has a crack in it.

Well when I get there I get the whole story. The Tech working on my bike tells me he finished the bike, pushed it to the side.
And as he is setting up the next bike he notices my scoot and I quote " Sorta creeping forward and leaning alittle."
I had to shake his hand, he stopped what he was doing and went to grab my bike before it fell over.

Anyone with a Image Motorcycle side stand, take a good look at it. Use a mirror. Anything to look at it from underneath. Look for cracks.

Or this could happen !!

Bike has maybe 800 miles since new stand was put on.
I bought this direct from Image Motorcycle.
Lifetime warranty. Lets see what they have to say.
I really can't see the dealer doing anything that might have caused this.

Everything about the way that kickstands constructed, looks like it never had a chance. Is that casted aluminum? Personally I wouldn't accept a replacement, I'd just tell them I want a refund. The entire concept behind that POS is insane IMO.

Glad you're bike didn't get damaged, and hopefully they'll refund you. If they gave me any grief about a refund, I'd promise them that I will post it on every forum I can find and bump the threads daily,

That thing is ridiculous!

Best of luck.

Looks like cheap cast. Man, i barely trust the factory original stand, the bike is so heavy and leans so much...

Judging from the second pic, it looks like it had been cracked for awhile.

Very lucky the mechanic was on his toes!

Holly ****, the ****ers hollow? I'ld never trust that to hold up 7-900 pounds. First of all it's cast aluminum, and secondly the design is flawed not thick enough at the feathers, instant stress point. But it was made in 98, so you got 4 years out of it JK.
Put your old stand back on.

Looking at the way it is shaped and hollow.
Are you sure that it wasn't designed to fit over the solid OEM kickstand?

What is the black stuff on the back side? It almost looks like JB Weld or something...or is it just the way the light is hitting it?

By the looks of it I wouldn't have trusted that stand in the first place. I'm glad someone "caught" it before an accident happened.
