Holly ****, the ****ers hollow? I'ld never trust that to hold up 7-900 pounds. First of all it's cast aluminum, and secondly the design is flawed not thick enough at the feathers, instant stress point. But it was made in 98, so you got 4 years out of it JK.
Put your old stand back on.
Put your old stand back on.
True our bikes weight 700-900#'s, but the Jiffy stand doesn't get 20% of that.
Think, it doesn't take all that much to upright our bikes from the stand.
I've never put a set of scales under the stand, but it'd tell ya close what is actually the amount. Of course U'd need to put some 2x4 or something to raise the bike the same thickness as the scales to get a true reading.
Still, the stand failed, which means someone sure missed the boat when designing it and I'd not want another one of them.

Sometimes there is a reason OEM stuff is designed a certain way. Put the OEM Jiffy Stand back on and count your blessings. I would forget working with the manufactuer and just start posting that pic all over. You would be doing some poor guy a favor. If the manufacturer really cares about their product, they will do something about it. But getting money back helps no one, especially the guy whose bike is parked to the left of a bike resting on a claw stand. When that one fails, TWO bikes get damaged.

Personally I think they're way "over the top" anyway. Looks like something a Meth-Head would have designed.

Not if you set it over gently...but what if the bike falls over on the kick stand?...what about heavy wind? What if a car or another bike bumps into it on the stand? Factory "jiffy stands" are very tough...I have never seen one fail...but I have seen several aftermarket units fail.
