Front Turn Signals

Front Turn Signals
Is it a law that you must have front turn signals on your bike? I have seen a few pics of bike where there are no turn signals up front and was curious since I want to move mine off the handlebars and down onthe forks somehow. If I dont need them at all then I will just look at taking them off, otherwise I need to figure out my options for moving them down.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

True. but as i looked more into it i found this..
This was taken from the UTAH 2009-10 official vehicle safety inspection manual for motorcycles.
"C. TURN SIGNALS
1. Check turn signal operation for proper functioning.
a. REJECT when:
1) Turn signals are missing when required. (After January 1, 1973)
2) Turn signals fail to function properly.
3) Turn signal lamps do not indicate amber to the front and red or amber to the rear.
*NOTE: When a motorcycle is originally equipped with turn signals, they must be present and function as designed by OEM.
*NOTE: All motorcycles manufactured after January 1, 1973 must be equipped with turn signals (49 CFR 571.108), (UCA 41-6a-160i(c))."
Id check with the local DMV before I payed a ticket.. or at least so i was aware of what i was doing.
