Default Exhaust wrap...which one

I just ordered a bassani road rage 2-1 for my 2012 Lo from dr.vtwin. Due to it not having heat sheilds and me not wanting to spend $180 to get them ive been thinking about wrapping the head pipes. Theres quite a few brands out there. I dont know anyone whos ever used it so im asking you guys which brand is best and last longer. Im getting black so id like it to hold color well. Thanks Garrett

DEI...If you want the black to stay black get the DEI black silicone spray as the black will fade. Do NOT soak it in water prior to isntall unless you want it to be faded immediately.

I just ordered the "Heatshield" colored wrap in black, they say it does not fade. I will not know till next summer but after my research it looks like the best option for black wrap.

DEI like others said or thermo tec. Thermo tec is at Autozone. I used the cheapo black from ebay on my current set and you can see where it had lightened a lot up near the heads. I actually like it on these pipes but if you don't go with the better stuff.

There is a calculator on their site here

IIRC 15' of wrap will do a 3' long 2.5" dia pipe. The kits they sell include all the ties and the silicone spray.

They include metal ties. But I always use stainless hose clamps. Much much better and are easier to use. You can get them anywhere.

I have the DEI "titanium" wrap on my Road Rage. Pic is in sig. It is a kind of bronze color. It is not made of fiberglass. You don't have to wear gloves when wrapping, it is softer and more pliable, therefore easier to get tight and it only smoked for about the first 5-10 minutes after I put it on.
