Default Deluxe owners- where would you spend $5,000???

Okay a little make believe here - if Santa showed up with $5000 for you but had the requirement it must be spent on the new 2012 Deluxe he is also giving you for Christmas what would you buy for performance, comfort and cosmetic upgrades (performance and comfort first)?

All of my friends with deluxes said Apes, fishtails, rims, pulleys and touring floorboards.

That's just in cosmetics.

Big bore, head work, and fuel management system with a good dyno tune. Also, a decent exhaust system if one isn't already there. Whatever is leftover, cosmetics.

Or just get a Screamin' Eagle 120r crate motor. You can pick them up for under $5K (somewhere in the area of $48XX.00). 120+tq/hp right out of the box.
And yes, they have a "B" model engine for that 2012 Deluxe.

A set of 97-98 springer leather bags, and a tour pak if you can find one. And a two week road trip to a great destination

Well, as Charlie Harper would put it, $5000 = three hookers and a Philly cheesesteak.

However, since Santa's going to be completely unreasonable about how you spend it, on a brand new bike I'd probably go for custom paint and accessories. I probably wouldn't go after any big performance upgrades until the warranty runs out. And, just my opinion, the level of performance offered by stealer upgrades is not worth the money.

BTW Hondo, hope you aren't getting rid of the Road Glide. That's a very sweet ride.

I use for hotels for a ten day ride to no particular location at all.

ALL motor and tranny work. I would prefer performance over cosmetics!
