Default Fatboy Handlebars on Heritage

Hey all,
I've been thinking of swapping out my Heritage handlebars with the lower Fatboy bars. What kind of trouble am I in for?

The only hang up I can see is the risers. I don't know if your current risers are for 1.25 bars. Other then that all the stock cables and wires will work.

The extra slack in the cables/brake lines a problem?

Looking at HD's website, I think I'd like the handlebar from the Road Glide. Looks to be very similar, but about 3" less rise, which would be perfect and maybe not enough difference to dick up the cables...

It looks like you have a shield on your Heritage. The extra slack in the cables could cause them to rub against the inside of the shield which could cause a mark on the shield, but nothing too bad. I don't think they shouldn't get hung up when turning the bars, but definitely test it before locking everything down.

Upon more research, it looks like the Road Glide bars would be a perfect fit, just 10.5" rise instead of the stock 12" and 3.5" pullback instead of 5".

I'll have to look at the hard break lines and see if that could cause me trouble.

I really don't know, but why don't U ask all the Fatboy and RK owners that change their bars to Heritage bars why... Least around here they do.

I suspect it's for comfort (going to a Heritage bar). That's why I want to stick with the same pullback, just a few inches shorter. I'll sit on a Road Glide to see how the bars feel.

I just added the 4 inch curved risers to mine and it fit my needs perfectly. Sitting on that RG won't help you decide as you will be in a different position than sitting on your Heritage.
