Mine rotated slightly. I pulled them back all the way torwards the rider and snugged them down with blue loctite. They have been fine, and not moved in 200+ miles.
I put blue loctite on them, torqued them down as hard as i could but they still moved, i tried tightening them with them pulled back, but i'm not about to wait until i have to stop short and they move forward. not safe. ordered burleigh bars highballs instead.
Looks great point. How comfortable is the riding position with those? I have a 2011 and I'm looking at those or the Dukes as well. My concern is I'm short 5'5" and don't want to stretch any more than I already am with the drag bars on it. I'm thinking with the apes it's going to come back more so the reach will be up as opposed to forward. With those drag bars I'm good for the first 100 or so miles then get sore shoulders from the reach. I'm waiting to see what the Ace Apes look like from Hardtail as well as the Roller8BB from Burleigh before deciding. That is if I can find where to buy them in the US?
I can only speak for the hardtail ,hoppers dukes as I had them on the bike before the burleigh highballs. They are not for the shorter rider, but they will make them any custom height or pullback you like. Mine didnt fit right and moved around in the top tree so I sent them back and ordered the highballs directly from australia. They have a lot more pullback than the dukes I had and they are not much of a reach at all. Like I said john at hardtail will make em any way you like, just make sure they took care of the problem I had. The burleigh bars are very well made and will cost you about 400 bucks more (well worth it).
Race, the bike looks great. Are those the 16" or 14" Dukes? I'm looking to do the same but want to make sure I don't extend them too far. Being 5'5" I fear having to stretch more than I do with the drag bars but would like a bit more upright position.
