Default Shock Adjustment for Lowering

Hey guys. When lowering our bikes with adjustable shocks is there a ratio of turns per inch on these? In other words how many times do I turn the adjusters on my shocks to lower the bike an inch? This is for EVO shocks 97 model.

I thought there was a ratio I had read about before. Figured I would ask before doing the redneck guess method.
