i had to do this after reading everyone's replies. part no. 29430-06 chrome "flames" air cleaner trim. while i was at it i went ahead and painted the mounting bracket with 1200 degree hi-temp flat black paint.

thanks deuce dude and asahi toro! it's a good feeling to do something yourself, even if it is a simple mod.

Here's a stock EVO A/C cover I purchased on E-Bay for $1.00 and modified it on my lathe.

I like it, nice work.

What did you need the lathe for? I though the nostalga cover the deales sell was just an EVO cover, nothing fancy.

Thanks,
It was a Stock EVO 8" Cover like the one pictured!
I like the look of the Air cleaner exposed! Plus better breathing for the engine and cooler air.

Now I see what you needed a lathe for, to cut away the sides. Looks good that way.

Nice pics guys. I really like the way they look. I went with the Ness Big Sucker kit but I still have the football. You guys are giving me some great idea's for the fatboy. So Heritage or SoCal Harley did you guys get those at the dealer? How much did they set you back if I may ask. When I go there should I ask for trim, cover, or an insert.
Thanks
Brett
