I use a cheap old shower cap. You can get them at CVS or similar for about $3.00 to $5.00 for three of them.[sm=smiley20.gif]
Is there a specific color that works best or should I go with the plain ole rubber duck pattern? [sm=smarty.gif]

Thanks for the advice.

How do these exposed filters perform in heavy rain? I don't like riding in the rain but I tour and sometimes spend the whole day in rain.

I have the se set up I am wondering if I can just buy the backing plate? Also can't find anything that says for 2007 efi

The backplate can be purchased from HD seperate. It is listed in the catalog for $39.95 in chrome or $35.95 in black wrinkle.

I am thinking about ordering a set of these to replace the black rubber stock breathers. What do you all think?

Was looking at them also but it recomends a canister. I was hopping I could fit them into the air cleaner the way the rubber ones fit.

Thanks but the one from nes is supposed to have some sort of built in crank case breather connection. With the Harley back plate you have to use the rubber hoses which in my opinion make the round air cleaner look like crap.

Good question, and I wondered the same thing..

The 'mod' looks good, but I'm not sure how well the open element would handle a few hours at cruising speed in heavy rain.

Went for a short ride today and while riding I remembered I had some 3/4" chrome "snap caps". When I got home I used my sons RC truck tire glue to apply them directly to the black rubber breather tubes. They were just a little small to cover the whole area but look pretty nice compaired to just the rubber. Now all I have to do is wait for X-mas for my chrome backplate & chrome EFI cover to finish the job!

Thanks for all the great ideas!

I don`t ride in the rain very much but I plan to carry the football in the saddle bag for those times when I get cought. It will be right there with my rain suit. When I have to stop & put the suit on it will only take a few more minutes to throw it back on.

Ride Safe,

Mike
