lawdog.....looking at the '07 hd catalog, it looks like they have the "aluminator trim" part no. 29131-00, lists for 69.95$. hope this helps.

I've done this mod with the skull cover and love it. Thinking about "the next level" I was considering ordering the Zipper air filter from JP Cycle. It is 5/8 in thicker than the stock one. I wondered if anyone has used this and will the cover mod from this thread still fit correctly?

 

When I used my aluminator on top of the smooth cover I needed a longer bolt. Just go to the dealer and ask for the one the fits Evo 1340 motors. It is about 3/8" longer and will fit any mod you do. The dealer will be clueless as usual so here is the part number 29703-00

I was concerned with the diameter of the Zipper filter. If it has the same diameteras the outside ringof the K&N or Harley, the cover would still fit correctly. If the angle of the filter is the same, the diameter would be smaller than the cover. The skull cover actually has a "star" that bolts to the filter so thread length isn't a problem.

suks alot of water..other wise suking lots of air..

 

I have the skull cover on my stock football, can you just take off the football then put on the cleaner cover back on to the filter by itself or do you have to cut off the football cover and just keep the center? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

 

You have bto get the star mounting kit from hd...(1) mounting hole in middle for star to air cleaer, than star has the (50 holes for your
trim cover
