Default wanting to get rid of the sealed beam headlight...

I have a 99 fatty and would like to replace the factory sealed beam headlight. I've done some searching and have found dozens or replacements but most say they will not fit with my headlight nacelle or don't mention it at all. so my question is what have others used who were in my situation?

Id be happy with just a h4 bulb instead of the sealed bulb.

thanks.

I believe the Road King headlight will fit the nacelle you are running on your Fatboy. The newer models have the small replacement bulb and the lens with the bar and shield in the middle.

I got a headlight from JC whitney for my 2002 way back that I know they do not sell anymore. It was about $25.

Look for a used headlight off a newer bike and that should work. I am not sure where to get just the guts now. The headlight is 7" so I assume the inners are about the same size. The sealed beam did not put out nearly enough light. I had an extra but sold it a while back to another forum member.

excuse my lack of knowledge, are you referring to the diameter of the face of the bulb? if so then I have a 7" headlight. which should make it easier to find a replacement, I would think...

All you need is a headlight reflector assembly and a H4 bulb of your choice. The nacelle you have should be the same as the one on my 05 softail. It's part # 67907-96C. This reflector assembly will fit... A hella e-code reflector will fit also. I have used both.
