Default Kuryakyn LEDs on 2011 Blackline

I ordered some Kuryakyn LEDs for my Blackline (mostly hoping to temporarily solve the endlessly burning out bulb issue some newer bikes are having) I got the bulbs and am waiting on smoked lenses.

Do I need a load equalizer? I only ask because the Harley catalog says that their LED assemblies do NOT require a load equalizer. So maybe something is different in the 2011-12 models? Kuryakyn's site has a note saying an equalizer IS needed, but doesn't say for which models or under what conditions.

Try them without and see what happens. The only difference see the signals will flash faster if an equalizer is needed.

The Blackline was switched over to a digital controller circuit in the ECM in 2011 according to H-D to eliminate on wiring bulk. There actually is no flasher unit. The flashing of the signal bulbs is controlled by the computer so you should be ok with LEDs with no need for a load equalizer. There was a HDMC Pdf release somewhere out there on this...

Now, I have tried several 1157 LED bulbs in my signal bodies but because the bulbs are generally less tapered at the base than the originals incandescents, I can't seem to be able to get them deep enough into the sockets to turn them. It seems that they hit the reflective backing before the pins on the bulbs can get deep enough. If these Kuryakyn ones will work, I'm gonna get me a pair too... Let us know how it goes.

I can't get the rear running lights to come on with these, unless I wiggle them in the socket. The front lights work fine, though. They're locked in place and everything, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

The lights themselves blink normally with these in, but the indicators on the speedo blink twice as fast.

Cool beans. You did not have the fitment issues the guy above you mentioned? Definitely seems like an inexpensive upgrade that is worth the money.

I am using the 1157 replacements but I dont have the security system. Maybe the dealer needs to turn on the LED function in your BCM programming. Mine was already on but yours may not be for some reason.
