Harley Security System worth the cost???

As said in previous posts, it is good for piece of mind. If someone knows what they are doing and really wants to steal it they will steal it no matter what alarm system you have.
My OEM alarm came stock with the ABS add on. It has the add on audible alarm (not the stock, turn signals just blink with no sound).
I also have the add on pager that alerts you if the alarm is tripped when you are within 1/2 mile from the bike. ( I like this because I have seen it work on a friends bike. When his went off in the bar we were in and there was a soon to be unlucky fool who was sitting on his bike in the parking lot playing pretend motorcycle rider on his bike! I still remember that look of fear in that guys eye when he looked up and realized my 250lb friend as he ran up to him and punched him right off the bike! lol)
I will tell you that for at least the last couple of model years, you can no longer set the sesitivity of the alarm anymore.
I have removed the saddlebags and windshield with the alarm key fob far away and never set off the alarm. I believe it only works with the bike being uprighted from the kickstand, any wheel movement forward or backwards and any power interruptions.
Like car stereos there are plenty of aftermarket options out there alot better and alot cheaper then the factory option.
If I had the choice I would get a quality aftermarket one with sensitivity adjustment and a pager that alerts you.
Remember: Locks and alarms only keep honest people honest.

Yes I think it's worth it, if you get the HD security system installed make sure they turn on the audible function in the system. Mine makes a noise when I get close or walk away......lets you know it's working. The alarm also screams if you move it without the keyfob so make sure you have a key if you need to move it.
