Seeing you have a Dyna which is more of 'spirited' ride, I would suggest you go with the Classic.
There is always the 'Badbody' look which the Cross bones is close to, chopped, minimalistic but that is also most Dyna's, Night Trains, Customs and Standards.
Then there is the 'classic' look from the 50's which the classic springer fits perfectly in.
On the motor side, you are aware of the pitfalls of the pre 2006 models (5 speed tranny, cam chain tensioner issues), Cross Bones are 2007 and up, but Springer classics are older models.
I would buy a springer classic myself but maybe an older Evo one if it is cheap enough just to look pretty in town

im assuming you mean other springers and the newer crossbones well there is a difference.in 2008 they upgraded the front rocker assembly on the right side and added a bushing seem minor but its a big deal really..the newer system is considerably better the ride is better too.either bike is good and an older springer can be upgraded for about 75.00 i have a crossbones which i did a heritage fatbones conversion too and stayed with the newer crossbones system for the reasons ive stated

Crossbones Rake vs. Heritage Springer
This might be a dumb question. Probably worth asking tho. Is there a difference in the front end rake of a Crossbones and a Heritage Springer? I love springers. To put one on my '15 Softail Slim would be ridiculous as far as cost. $4500.00 just for parts. 1/3 of what another bike would go for used with a Springer. So I decided to go for a second bike. With a Springer. I don't like the duck -*** style rear fender on regular Springers or Crossbones either. So......that said....I'm also a looking at the Crossbones' rake and it seems short. I could do a bobber or heritage fender on a newer Crossbones, BUT then your reinventing the wheel. Where as a Heritage Springers would have the look. So am I the only one that sees this detail? BTW, Just missed a local Heritage that was upgraded to a 6 speed and the jugs done to a 103. Seems like that is a Unicorn bike. 12000 for a 9500 mile bike. It didn't last 24 hours up for sale.
