Keep searching like others have said. I got my 97 for 6800 and around Atlanta some are going cheaper than that. If you get a something from the 80's then Tom is your man to talk to!!

I bought my 99 Softail Custom in Yantis Texas 3 years ago for $7,100. It had 17,000 miles on it, and looked like new. Had about $6,000 dollars worth of mostly chrome additions. I have 32,000 on it now, and have had to do nothing to it, outside of changing the cam brg. which was still good. Just did not want trouble later on. Otherwise it runs superbly and I love it. I think they have come down since I bought mine, so you should be able to get a better deal. I got mine on e-bay from a super nice guy that had 5 Harley's. I live in Kansas so had to drive to get it, but well worth the trip.
