Careful with those little screw-type hose clamps ...!
... the ends can put some pretty good gouges in the top of your rocker boxes when you replace the tank or if you do any future work and move the tank and/or rocker boxes ....
I just cut the crossover line in two. After one slip of a tool f**king around with those stock H-D clamps in that small space, I realized that I'd rather spend a couple bucks for a new hose and good clamps rather than mar up paint or chrome. I just pulled off the clamps and old hose after I had the tank off. It was much easier that way.

...and YES, the service manual is an essential tool, if you are gonna be wrenching yourself.
FYI on the service manuals- you can get them on eBay for $10 on CD. You can print as needed or just take the laptop to the garage. I have both and they are the same. (book and CD)
